Big Boyz Shootout Event Added (14u-18u)
We have added a new event for the 60/90 classes (14u-18u) to be played at local high schools and Salem Kiwanis Field on October 9,10 weekend. Each age class is open to first 5 teams only. We will play a 4GG round robin format in each class.
Star City Challenge Field Assignments:
We are currently assigning the following, more to be announced later today...13u AA and Open playing at Arnold R. Burton Roanoke (South and North and East Fields), 12u Open will play at Salem Civic Center East Field. 12u AA playing at Harkrader in Christiansburg,10u Salem Civic Center West, 14u will play at Christiansburg HS, 15u playing at Salem Kiwanis Field and Hidden Valley HS, and 11u play at Harkrader Christiansburg and either Fallen Branch Elm. and or Kiwanis Christiansburg. SUBJECT TO CHANGE DEPENDING ON # OF TEAMS ENTERED!!
USSSA Fall State Entries Notice
All teams wanting to play in the upcoming Fall State Events need to register ASAP. These two back to back weekends will be jam packed and some classes will need to be cut off due to field availability. Ages 8u thru 13u play October 9-10 and ages 14-18 play October 2-3, 2010!!!
Roanoke USSSA Tournament Rewards Program Announcement
Beginning September 1, 2010...Teams participating in 5 sanctioned Roanoke USSSA events including a Spring or Fall State Event will generate a free tournament entry fee, which can be used toward any event for the current 2011 season--except for Spring or Fall State Events. Roanoke USSSA to Expand Operations
We continue to grow and reach into other areas that want USSSA baseball. We will be expanding our program to now include Lynchburg / Bedford and Amherst areas. Watch the site for details and events soon! Thanks for making our program grow each and every year!
Fall Cool Down Event Added
The Fall Cool Down event has been added back to the Roanoke USSSA schedule for October 2,3 2010. It is open to all ages classes 8u-13u. Enter today to reserve your spot
USSSA Jewelry Policy Update
Roanoke USSSA will follow the National USSSA policy effective immediately. Coaches will be warned at the home plate meeting to remove all jewelry. If a player is found to have any on during the game, play will be stopped and the items will be removed. Play will resume immediately. NO player ejection will occur.
Hotel Reservations
We have been asked by local areas to have teams stay near the complexes they are scheduled to play in when possible. Economic impact information for events is measured each week and one of the biggest ways is thru the number of "heads on beds" in the each county area. Please complete the check in form for each event in detail. Thanks for the efforts.
Effective for all events beginning with the Summer Swing Fest June 19/20, 2010--ANY team that has not paid their entry fee with a post mark date of 7 days prior to the event will NOT be put into the event call from a director to confirm the registration. If that team still desires to play, a $25.00 late fee will be applied and the entry fee MUST be received before Tuesday night of the event in order to play. Teams that register late for an event will now be subject to the entry fee plus $25.00 late entry fee charge in order to play. It too must be received by Tuesday night in order for that team to play. Entries MUST be mailed to PO Box 7838 Roanoke VA 24019. This rule apples to ALL teams, no exceptions. In order to withdraw from an event, a team MUST email Scott or Mike 7 days prior to that event. We appreciate those that followed our policies for the past several years, however, since the growth of the program we need to continue to protect the integrity of the program and teams playing. This policy should assist with teams not showing up and leaving others left out. Please be sure to follow this procedure!
